The Centre for Medical Education in Context (CenMEDIC) is dedicated to using knowledge and skills to support the development of medical education that is sensitive to context and to local needs and conditions.  CenMEDIC was formerly The Open University Centre for Education in Medicine (OUCEM).

CenMEDIC aims to:

• Work with governmental and professional bodies to undertake quality assured policy research in undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing medical education in primary and secondary care.
• Offer flexible research and development capability in relation to educational design, delivery, management, organisation, funding, workforce issues and quality assurance at undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing levels.
• Produce distance learning materials and publications to support medical teachers, doctors in training, and managers and funders of postgraduate and continuing medical education in service and academic arenas.
