CLUCIME

The Copenhagen-Lund University Centre for International Medical Education (CLUCIME), a co-operative group of teachers and administrators from the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Copenhagen, Denmark, and the Faculty of Medicine, Lund University, Sweden, provides a forum for development of the activities of the WFME office.

CLUCIME was developed in 1996, by agreement between the two faculties, following the move of the WFME office to Copenhagen.

The Centre works for the promotion of medical education internationally, and functions as a ”think tank” for the WFME Office.

AMSE

The Association of Medical Schools in Europe (AMSE) creates a forum for European Medical Faculties to share experiences in the fields of education, research and management. AMSE seeks to stimulate co-operation between Medical Schools in Europe and to initiate and sustain relations with other professional, governmental and non-governmental organisations in education, research and health care.

AMSE organises an annual conference on topics of particular interest to deans, heads of school and other staff members of Medical Faculties.

The President of AMSE, David Gordon, is based in the WFME office.

WFME is in official relationship with the World Health Organization. As well as the collaborative global work plan between WFME and WHO, WFME works with WHO regional offices.

The WHO Regional Office for Europe is based in Copenhagen, and is the focus for the collaborative work of WFME and WHO in the European region. This has particularly supported work such as the development of the joint Guidelines for Accreditation.

WFME has provided support for human resource development in medical education in Europe, and for development of accreditation and similar processes.
